Texas here we come

Well...the move to Texas has officially begun! Technically, it began when we bought the house there, but the official MOVE has also started. Big T left with our first load to Texas on Saturday. Mostly storage, garage and tools, so he can get the house ready for us. We had originally planned to wait until the house here sold, but due to job offers rolling in and my company allowing me to work from home in Texas, we decided "Why wait". We will be gone by Christmas, we have to be, the tree and decorations are already there by now, we may possibly be gone by Thanksgiving. I will post a picture of our new house, keep in mind that the picture is from a month ago and the grass had not been mowed and we have not yet been able to add our personal touches, so it is kind of a rough picture.

As soon as I find the before pictures of our house here and scan them in, (they are from 7 years ago, pre-digitial camera) I will post before and after pictures for you all to see, since most of you have not been over for several years.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My Mom's 65th birthday would have been on the 13th. I wish I could tell her in person how much I love her. This is the only good picture I have of her. It was taken about 20 years ago. With all of her medical problems, she hadn't looked this good for a long time. I wish I had more pictures of her and I wish we could have done more things together while I was an adult. But she was always far away and wasn't really the type to run errands or just hang out with anyone. I guess we only did things together when we were on vacation when I was younger. I wish we could have made more memories together.....
.Here's some pictures of the flowers from her funeral. Whenever I get sad, I look at these flowers and it somehow cheers me up a little......

My Mom wasn't very religious, but I do know she believed in Heavenly Father. Her favorite poem is below, I am sure you have all heard it before.......

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,

“ You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”

The Lord replied, “ The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Cutie patootie

M2 looks good in just about any color, but this shade of yellow really makes his eyes POP! You can admire his 1st haircut, thanks to me, I guess it looks ok considering it was my first ever haircut! Daddy wanted to shave it, but he barely got hair, so I didn't have the heart to shave it. I won! Daddy calls it a bowl cut, I prefer to call it ......a little boy cut! Too cute!

My favorite M & M's

We were getting ready for bed and these two were being silly, and I actually remembered to grab the camera! They like to make me laugh.

Bob the Builder

I think M2's new nickname will be Bob. While we were putting in our new closet cabinets, he was right there, with screwdriver in hand to help out. Daddy thought it was great...I was waiting for him to stab his foot or something else.

Cheap Labor?

Would this violate child labor laws? It's not too young to start chores, right? If only his sister would pay attention. I was vacuuming up the mess that he made and he decided to help, then he decided to take over. Works for me!

Texas, here I come....

M2 loves to wear anything that belongs to M1, her hat, her headbands, her bike helmet..anything. Good thing he is too young to know his colors....hehe.

........FOUND IT!

M2 absolutely loves to carry the baster around, you know, boys and sticks. I absolutely love it because when he bounces it on the travertine, it doesn't make any noise. Right on! The best play toy ever!

Now..where did I put that sword?

He had his cake and ate it too...

This was from M2's first birthday in June. He had cake everywhere. I was smart enough to put down plastic under his highchair, mostly because I knew Big T would freak out if he got chocolate frosting on the new travertine. We had to force M1 to eat her cake at her first birthday, but obviously M2 had no problem.

Let's play Barbies...er, I mean KEN!

This was soooo funny. M1 and her friend were playing Barbies, M2 plops himself down and started playing with the Ken doll. He must of played there for about 30 minutes. He was also playing with the play horse, making sounds. I think boys just come with sound effects!

I Hope You Dance

M1 and M2 love dancing around the living room together. M2 just giggles and giggles. Even though there is a big age difference between them, I am glad they are close and love spending time together...don't mind the gross couch in the background, we got new carpet and furniture right after this picture was taken.

Where's the sanity?

WOW....it has been a busy month! I know I haven't posted in a while. Big T always hogs my computer...I think he does it on purpose...hehehe. Mimi came to visit at the beginning of the month, it was a nice visit. I turned another year older, yuck!I used to think that this age was"old". I don't think so anymore.

My parents would have celebrated their 44th anniversary on July 12th. It's still weird to think my mom passed away in May. I don't think it has really sunk in all the way yet. My dad asked me when it was customary to remove his wedding ring......I told him never would be ok, if it doesn't feel right. For many years I have been used to not talking to or seeing her for periods of time, so it just seems like normal. Some days it will just hit me out of the blue and knock me for a loop, so to speak. I had a dream about her the other day....She was driving me around town, pointing out places we went when I was little, and i kept thinking, wait a minute...maybe she's not really gone. But then I woke up and remembered. I know after someone passes there are always things you wish you would have said.....another reminder to always tell your loved ones how you feel over and over again, even if you sometimes feel silly saying it repeatedly. You never know when you won't get another chance!

Moving on.....let's see what else has happened....M1 has been in Texas with Mimi for the last 2 weeks. And, oh yeah, I almost forgot. Our house in Texas should close on Aug 20th. So yes, that means a big move in the near future. And Yes, permanately. Since it is so close to school starting, we will probably just stay here until our house sells and then move to the new house. i am excited. The house is a little smaller than here but still 4 bed, 3 bath and on 4 acres. Yes I said 4 acres! All for less than half of what our house here will sell for. it will be so nice to have a small house payment. We can keep the horse in our backyard, literally. It is about 10 minutes out in the country in a small town of about 3000 people called Krum, Texas.....It sounds better if you say it with an accent....Kr-uuuummmm, Tex-as. hehehe just kidding. It is north of the Dallas area, if any of you are familiar with Texas. I don't know if i will be able to sleep without the ghetto bird humming me to sleep........it might be too quiet! it will be nice to find some new friends to hang out with, everyone we knew here moved away...or got too busy.....darn you all!!!! just kidding. I think that's why everyone probably blogs now. It's easier to keep in touch then in person.

Thanks for listening to me, sorry it was so long, just felt like talking...er, typing, ...whatever! I will post some pics!

Our newest addition to our family

This is Kahlua. She is our new baby. She is almost 4 months old and has just as much spunk as M1 & M2 combined. Kahlua won't be ready to ride for a year and a half, so right now we just enjoy taking care of her and spending time with her. M1 has been riding horses for almost two years now and really likes it. I recently started riding myself and can't put into words how invigorating it really is. It's alot of fun.

The EYES have it

Those eyes..........captivating!

My delicious little M2

I just want to eat him up! Those eyes just kill me, they make your heart melt. He loves to cuddle and always greets you with a smile. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful son in my life.

9 going on 19

WOW, M1 is growing up so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was changing her diapers. I couldn't have asked for a more caring, loving daughter. I am so lucky to have her in my life!

Two peas in a pod....

M1 & M2..... These two are so much alike. They both like to smile. And their eyes can light up a room. I just have to smother them with kisses every day!
