Better late than never....

Ok, so it's been a while since I have posted. With the move, numerous computer issues, internet issues, yada, yada, yada the list goes on. Mostly I have just been plain lazy! No excuse, I know, but after spending most of the day on the computer working, I really don't feel much like getting on the computer at night to blog, read emails, or do much else. Especially since I feel bad hogging the computer from Big T all the time.

Anyways, we are we, hmmmmm! Christmas is almost here, YAY!!! I love Christmas time, and here it actually feels like Christmas, it was only 35 degrees today and rainy! I guess I better go buy the kids "real" coats this year!

I better back up a little and tell our lovely moving story, some of you have already heard it but here goes....

On the way out here, I was in my yukon with Big W and M2 and Big T and M1 was in his truck pulling the trailer with all of our stuff. Sounds easy enough right?? Well, not really. I would usually go ahead a little and then when i had to stop for diaper duty (or is it doody?) Big T would go ahead. I would eventually catch up or go ahead again and then stop for the night and let him know what hotel to meet us at.

The second night, Sunday about 8 pm to be exact, I was about 80 miles ahead and ready to stop for the night, when M2 called in a major panic, screaming, Daddies truck broke!!! That's right, 9 miles out from the closest town they broke down, in the middle of darkness. Needless to say, she was freaked out! We had to have a tow truck go pick them up and take them the 9 miles into town, which I don't think it technically qualified as a "town" with how small it was. The next morning, we found out there was no one there that could work on diesels....go figure, small hole in the wall on a major highway that usually has diesel trucks on it and no one could work on them.......I was starting to think we were in the middle of a horror movie!

So, they had to tow the truck again to another town 45 minutes in the wrong direction because their dealership would be able to work on it by Thursday or Friday (and this was only Monday). all the rest of the towns in the right direction wouldn't be able to work on it for 3 weeks. So wrong direction here we come. Needles to say, they couldn't take our trailer with them, so we had to leave it behind, hoping and praying it would still be there when we got back the following week.....?!?. Now, keep in mind I was already 80 miles ahead on the highway, so I had to go back the 80 miles to get M1 then we left Big T behind to wait for the truck and we went the final 7 hours into Dallas. That was one of the hardest things to do..to leave my husband behind, in a small town not knowing when we would see him again. Again, think horror movie!

When we got to Dallas, we had only the few clothes in a suitcase that we had in my car and the cat, so we couldn't go to our new house, so we stayed at Mimi's for a few nights. Since this all took place the weekend before Halloween and the costumes were safely packed away in the trailer....I had to buy more costumes for the kids to trick or treat. Here some of the malls do trick or treating inside, it was nice!!!! Shop and trick or treat at the same time. How conveinent is that?

By Wednesday, Halloween, they still hadn't been able to look at the truck yet, so Big T talked the dealership into driving him back to the trailer. There just so happened to be a uhaul center there...yeah can't work on diesels but can rent you a uhaul..I think it sounds fishy!!!~! Anyways, He got all the way back to the trailer, luckily it was still there, got the uhaul truck and was going to pull the trailer in, but of course, murphy's law stuck again, the hitch on the trailer and the hitch on the truck didn't match, and there was no way to change it! So, Big T had to go back to where the truck was. And he talked them into renting him a truck there that would work with the trailer hitch. So after spending half the day running around, he got back to the trailer, hooked up and was headed to Dallas! Yeehaw!

He got there about 8pm Wed night(Halloween), of course we had to unload half the trailer right away, so we could finally sleep in "our" bed. It only took us about 3 hours to unload the trailer........If I ever say I am going to move again, please shoot me!!!!

The next day, we unloaded the other half of the trailer and I was off to unpacking boxes and getting my office set up for work for the next week. Oh boy!!!! Two weeks later, I unpacked the final box...whew! So fast forward to today, we are unpacked and for the most part settling in nicely. It is nice to have a fireplace again...and have a real reason to use it! We have been working on getting the barn up for the horse, so we can bring her out soon. Then we want to add on a covered porch and covered parking area, we have 4 acres, so we can really do just about anything...... already starting with the remodel.......Oh, M1 started school here on halloween, she love's it! Mostly because she can wear flip flops to school and seldom has homework! She has already been to a sleepover party and has made many friends. Our ward here is nice, Everyone is friendly and they have LOTS of kids in the primary, yeah!!! M2 started nursery this past weekend, it was so nice! and he didn't even cry, not one peep, I put him down and away he went to the toys!

I miss it out there a little but it really is nice being out here in the country a little. It has forced me to kinda slow down a little and it's REALLY NICE! They had a North Pole Parade in downtown last weekend with a craft show and a free chilli dinner afterwards at the middle school, and they had pictures with Santa. He's the real thing and he actually lives here in town. He has the white hair, long beard and real "padding" of his own. And his name really is Santa! no joke! A photographer in town took the pictures, I have to pick them up this week, I will post it when I get it.

That's all for know, I will try and post some pictures soon. Oh, I almost forgot, there is one thing I don't like about being in the country...BUGS!!!! that's right, lots of them. I don't know how many wolf spiders I have killed in the house, I lost count, and crickets, M2 has even learned how to catch them....hehehe oh and I have found 4 millipedes and 1 centipede in the house. Yes I said in the house, really not excited about that!!!!!At night when it is alittle warmer, you hear the toads outside scratching on the door. At first I kept thinking there was a dog or cat outside trying to get in until I opened the door and it jumped and scared the crud out of me! But at least they eat bugs, I can deal with the toads! Hopefully since it is cold now, we won't see anymore for awhile!

Oh, and I have already found the cool places to eat dinner....about 15 minutes away in Denton we have a Pei Wei...woohoo! Already eaten there, yum! They pretty much have all the restaurants that we had there in the Mesa area, so civilization is not too far away.....
